Must own

Faithful to the original with great controls! Great game!

Great game back in the day...

But this version needs a facelift. The graphics look really washed out. Dissapointing on the iPad for sure.

Outstanding!

Every bit as good as the original! This was the first tycoon game I ever played and its still the best! I had been looking for a copy and found that it was available for ipad! I was so stoked about it, it downloaded it right away! If you like sim games, this is the one for you! Surprisingly addictive and amazing to watch! Highly recommended!

Classic!

Just as I remember it. I look forward to spending hours in front of this game. Thank you Chris Sawyer.

Just cant get into it at all

Really tough to use interface, this game just doesnt lend itself well to the ipad, real bummer! The ipad needs more great simulation games, especially business sims.

Great tycoon experience

TT on the iPad gives a retro gaming feel - graphics and some of the interface - but also takes me back to complex intricate "tycoon" sims which take a bit of learning to figure out. Im still learning, but find the process rewarding (if occasionally frustrating - oops, I suppose that industry didnt need coal). Theres an economy, theres a range of rolling (and flying and shipping) stock and theres a mix of real-world and fantasy scenarios. And there are still many Ive not tried. So... This isnt easy, its a challenge, but a rewarding one. Worth it: time and money.

Fun but confusing

When I was done the tutorials, I would always get lost in the menus. This game would be excellent if they would fix the menus to be less confusing.

Almost the best

Its great but no multiplayer or sandbox if they had that 5 stars

Not good

Its a really good game but it crashes all the time. It would be worth the money if the game worked 100% It would be even better if you could creat your own level

Frustrated

Its a good game if your okay with it crashing every 20 min.

great but no sandbox

common guys we need a sandbox mode

Minor miracle

The original Transport Tycoon was a brilliant game with tremendous depth. The mobile version is a minor miracle! Getting even a portion of the original game on an iPhone is impressive, but to do it this well and without microtransaction nonsense is worthy of praise.

Some flaws short of perfection

I played this years ago on the PC and its great to have it back. It has the same, great deep gameplay. But the interface is sometimes a bit rough, particularly when it comes to removing roads or other features. It also is a bit of a battery killer, which is too bad. I find I just get going and then my iPad dies because of the battery drain.

Sandbox?

Think u guys forgot the sandbox mode?

The game Ive been looking for

Years ago, I played roller coaster tycoon and knew there wasnt another game out there like it. I remembered RC tycoon a few weeks ago and decided to look it up on the App Store. Look what I found! I feel like deleting all my apps except for this one because there is NO comparison to any other game I have seen so far. At the moment, I have $970,500,000 in the year 2005 and I get over $2,000 a second! This is one of the only GAMES that make me feel rich when i have lots of money. Five stars FOR SURE! There are days, months, years, SEASONS, the trees ACTUALLY grow over time, this is a game that has a lot of effort put in to it. The trams, boats, planes, trains, trucks and buses are really well made, too! I currently have a fleet of 747s and Concords... How much better could it get? Thats a challenge, by the way. A very difficult challenge.

Good but could have been great

I was a huge fan of the original back in the 90s. The graphics were awesome and the interface was killer at the time. Playing this version on the ipad is frustrating because it is so very close to recreating the original but still falls short. Although many have complained about the pixelated graphics, and I do agree, I think the UI is the biggest problem. I dont recall having such a terrible time terraforming in the original. In fact one my my fondest memories of the game was building train routes through mountainous terrain. In this version it is the aspect I dread the most. Now that I think about it, if they could have just iterated more on that one use case I think they could have a winner. Building rails and roads was so much fun. With this version I try to avoid it if I can. Thats the biggest issue. Still a good game though and the new music is really fun. Also enjoyed the lack of depots. Risky call but it improves over the original.

Awesome Sim

If you enjoyed Railroad Tycoon on the PC then this is the game for you. This is a true simulation game with a wide variety of challenging scenarios.

AWESOME

AMAZING GAME BUY IT OR YOU SHALL NE EXTERMINATED!

Excellent port of classic game

This is one of the best ports of a classic PC game that Ive seen. For those who havent played it before Id recommend the Lite just to get a feel but once youve figured out the game play youll be hooked! Chris Sawyer is one of the Masters of simulation and this game was well ahead of its time and today it still boosts one of the most detailed yet user friendly interfaces in a simulation application.

Played for hours

Love this game. Probably have about ~30 hours of game play into this game and love it. A few minor bugs here and there like extending tram tracks. Overall its a good game. Please bring Roller Coaster Tycoon ;) was my favourite game growing up.
